Pro Football Focus: Patrick Mahomes is still a top-5 QB through four weeks

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is one of the greatest passers the NFL has ever seen since he first entered the league in 2017. However, the 28-year-old has had a bumpy start to the 2023 campaign by completing under 65% of his throws for 1,006 yards and eight touchdowns to four interceptions through four games.

Still, the folks at Pro Football Focus still have Mahomes as a top-5 QB by revealing their latest QB rankings ahead of Week 5. Mahomes is fourth with a grade of 82.0.

Mahomes finished Week 4 with another rocky performance finishing 18 of 30 for 203 yards passing with a touchdown and two picks in a 23-20 win over the New York Jets. This week, the Chiefs take on the Minnesota Vikings (1-3) which will be an opportunity for the KC offense to get back in sync. However, if Mahomes and the offense continue to struggle, then he could slide further down the QB rankings.

However, Minnesota possesses the 20th-ranked defense and is 21st against the pass. So odds are in Kansas City’s favor for Mahomes and Co. to have a big day.
