Pro Football Focus grades Chiefs’ Trent Mcduffie as NFL’s top CB

Second-year corner Trent McDuffie is off to a great start in his sophomore season with the Kansas City Chiefs, and with three weeks in the books, the former Washington Husky is receiving some national attention.

After three stout performances, the latest being a complete romping of the Chicago Bears, the folks at Pro Football Focus have graded McDuffie as the NFL’s top player at this position.

Additionally, McDuffie is also the only CB to have recorded two games that were graded with a 80 or highier.

After letting veteran CB Charvarius Ward walk in free agency two offseasons ago, the Chiefs opted to find their next star corner in the 2022 NFL Draft and struck gold by landing Trent McDuffie. As a rookie, McDuffie started 11 games and recorded 44 tackles, seven pass deflections, and a forced fumble as Kansas City plowed their way in the AFC postseason before defeating Philadelphia to win the Super Bowl.

This year, McDuffie is looking to build off his rookie campaign and become the lockdown corner Kansas City drafted him to be. So far, he’s doing a fantastic job as the Chiefs currently possess the NFL’s 6th-ranked passing defense, according to Pro Football Reference
