Mahomes leapfrogs Brady in jersey sales

Barely two months into the NFL off-season, Chiefs third-year quarterback Patrick Mahomes found another way to beat future Hall of Famer Tom Brady at something.

The NFL Player’s Association released its list of the top 50 best-selling player jerseys between March 1, 2019, and February 29, 2020.

Mahomes, 24, who won Super Bowl MVP in 2019 and a league MVP title the year prior, tops the list as Brady, who recently signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, falls to second place.

On the list, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson takes third place, followed by Dallas running back Ezekiel Elliott and Cleveland QB Baker Mayfield to round out the top 5.

Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce also made the list, ranking 26th.

While Brady has reigned the NFL over the last two decades, winning six Super Bowls and nine AFC Championships with the New England Patriots during the span.

The passing of the torch goes to Mahomes, who has quickly taken over as the league’s new face, in more ways than one, as we head into the 2020s.
