The Kansas City Chiefs are mourning one of its former players this week.
Former NFL defensive end Jimmy Wilkerson died from a reported heart attack on Friday, December 13. He was 43. His death was confirmed by CBS reports Bill Jones. Wilkerson leaves behind his wife and four children.
Wilkerson was a college standout at the University of Oklahoma and was a sixth-round draft pick (198th overall) by the Kansas City Chiefs in 2003.
Wilkerson played five seasons with Kansas City (2003-2007), tallying 94 tackles in 72 games. In 2008, he began a two-year stint with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and played his final NFL season as a member of the New Orleans Saints in 2010.
