Kansas City Chiefs center Creed Humphrey is back in another Super Bowl, looking to help his team accomplish the NFL’s first 3-peat campaign.
On Wednesday, the All-Pro center took time to appear on the Rich Eisen Show to speak with host Rich Eisen about his bond with quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
“Meeting [Patrick Mahomes] for the first time was awesome,” he began. “It was one of those things, you know, just hey, excited that you’re here. Let’s get to work. And you know, I’m one of those guys that I like to get to work. So it was awesome to get around him. Obviously, he’s a great leader, a great guy to have around, a great teammate, a great friend off the field. So he’s an incredible human being, and it’s been awesome to grow our relationship over these past four years,” Humphrey explained.
Of course, Mahomes is the leader of the entire offense. But the center is often considered the “quarterback” of the offensive line. So it’s Humphrey’s responsibility to make the rest of the o-line understand the blocking schemes for every snap.

It’s also important for the quarterback and center to be on the same page on the field and in the film room.
“We break down film together a couple of times a week,” said Humphrey. “Just seeing how he goes through studying film and things like that. It’s something I picked up on quick, and just understanding how he does it, and you know how focused he is during that time. It was something that really stood out to me.”
Humphrey was drafted by the Chiefs 63rd overall in the 2021 draft. Since earning the starting job his rookie year, the Oklahoma product has embarked on two consecutive Super Bowl campaigns and is a two-time Pro Bowler. In 2024, Humphrey earned All-Pro honors for the first time in his career after leading all centers in offensive snaps with 1,112 in 2024.
