Chiefs waive three players following second preseason game

After a solid preseason performance, defeating the Washington Commanders 24-14 on Saturday, the Kansas City Chiefs parted ways with three players on Monday afternoon. Per the NFL’s roster requirement, all 32 clubs have until Tuesday at 3 p.m. Central Time to reduce their preseason rosters to 80 players.

The Chiefs waived the following players:

  • CB Brandin Dandridge
  • S Nasir Greer
  • OL David Steinmetz

Dandridge, 26, signed with the Chiefs on a Futures/Reserve contract on February 8 after spending the previous three seasons playing in the Candian Football League as a member of the Ottawa RedBlacks.

Greer, 22, signed the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent out of Wake Forest. In two exhibition games, he recorded two tackles and a sack.

Steinmetz, 27, signed with the Chiefs as a free agent during training camp on July 25. He previously spent time with the Washington Commanders (2020-21) and Houston Texans (2018-19).

With these moves, the Chiefs’ roster currently stands at 82 players.
