Chiefs trade OL Yasir Durant to New England

As the Kansas City Chiefs trim their roster down to meet the required 53-man limit, the club has made its first trade before the league’s deadline set for Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Kansas City Star’s Herbie Teope, the Chiefs are sending Yasir Durant to the New England Patriots in exchange for a seventh-round draft pick in 2022.

Durant joined the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Missouri in 2020 and made the team’s active roster, appearing in 11 games. Primarily on special teams. He also started along the offensive line against the L.A. Chargers in the last game of last season.
