Chiefs’ Skyy Moore reflects on performance from Week 8.

‘Lackluster’ is a word that sums up the Kansas City Chiefs wide receiving core thus far this season, and a part of the massive disappointment has been how underwhelming Skyy Moore has been in his second season despite all the hype he received over the offseason.

The Chiefs’ offense struggled mightily last week in Denver, most recently, but Moore told reporters on Thursday that he expects more from the offense and himself heading into Week 9 against the Dolphins (6-2).

“Yeah, [I need to] do a better job of finishing the opportunities that I get,” Moore said. “When they come, just make the play.”

Moore was asked if the team’s rotation of seven different receivers prevents the unit from finding a rhythm. The 24-year-old said it’s beneficial to the offense.

“I don’t really see it as a challenge,” Moore explained. “We’re hitting – everybody is getting in. It’s seven totally different receivers, so new weapons each play.”

Week 8 was incredibly disappointing as Kansas City suffered five dropped passes and turned the football over five times in a 24-9 loss. Moore told reporters that he expects the team to bounce back in Frankfurt against Miami.

“I would expect us to come out firing on all cylinders,” Moore stated. “I feel like every position group knows what they have to do, and we’re going to hone into the details and get the job done.”

The Chiefs must get back to what worked two weeks ago against the Chargers to have a shot at keeping up with the Dolphins’ high-powered offense that averages over 33 points per game.
