Chiefs sign defensive end Azur Kamara

On Tuesday, the Kansas City Chiefs signed former Dallas Cowboys defensive end Azur Kamara, per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

Kamara, 26, entered the league in 2020 as an undrafted free agent out of the University of Kansas, signing with the Dallas Cowboys. He’s primarily known for his appearances on HBO’S Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Dallas Cowboys when he was on Dallas’ roster during the team’s training camp in 2021.

After missing his rookie campaign due to injury, the 6-foot-4, 235-pound Kamara appeared in nine regular season games for Dallas in 2021, mostly on special teams, registering three tackles (two solo). In December, he was released from the Cowboys and finished the rest of the ’21 season with the Carolina Panthers.

Now with the Chiefs, Kamara will compete with defensive ends Mike Dana, Joshua Kaindoh, George Karlaftis, Austin Edwards, and Malik Herring.
