As rookie minicamp is set to begin on Friday, the Chiefs took to their official Twitter account to announce they’ve signed all of their 2021 draft picks to rookie contracts on Thursday afternoon.
Linebacker Nick Bolton, center Creed Humphrey, defensive end Joshua Kaindoh, tight end Noah Gray, wide receiver Cornell Powell, and offensive guard Trey Smith have been signed through the 2024 NFL season.
Only Bolton and Humphrey will be amongst the top 51 contracts that will count against the 2021 salary cap. After the final cuts deadline, it won’t be until after the final cuts deadline that all six rookie contracts count for approximately $5 million against the cap. Until then, the total cap hit for rookies who were drafted is expected to be roughly $300,000 since Bolton and Humphrey’s cap hit of just over $1 million will replace $850,000 contracts that are in the Top 51.
