Chiefs place WR Mecole Hardman on Reserve/Injured list

The injuries continue to pile up for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2024, this time, they’ve lost another veteran wide receiver for at least the next four games.

On Saturday, the Chiefs announced via their official X account that they’ve placed Mecole Hardman on the Reserve/Injury list with a knee injury he suffered last Friday during the team’s 19-17 win over the Las Vegas Raiders.

Hardman did not participate in practice this week. Right now, there’s no indication of how serious the injury is, but it was enough for Kansas City to put him on IR.

To fill the roster back up to the 53-player limit, the Chiefs signed practice squad receiver Nikko Remigio to an active roster contract and elevated practice squad linebacker Swayne Bozeman and tight end Baylor Cupp.

Remigio is in his second season with the Chiefs and has yet to see any reps in a regular season game. Bozeman and Cupp entered the league with Kansas City this season as undrafted free agents.

Depending on the extent of Hardman’s injury, he could return in time for the final game of the regular season against the Denver Broncos if he makes a fast recovery. Through 12 games this season, Hardman’s made 12 catches for 90 yards.
