Chiefs place Kyle Long on PUP, send Keizer to non-football injury list

The Kansas City Chiefs made three roster transactions on Tuesday, per the NFL transaction report.

The team has placed offensive tackle, Kyle Long, on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list. Long suffered a lower-leg injury in mid-June so this move comes as no surprise. Long joins teammate Armani Watts, who was placed on the PUP list Saturday.

As per the PUP list protocol, Long has until the end of training camp to come off the PUP list or will have to miss the first six weeks of the season.

Kansas City also placed tight end, Nick Keizer, on the non-football injury list, meaning he suffered an injury while he was away from the team. Long and Keizer will still be counted against the Chiefs’ 90-man roster, which is currently full.

Finally, wide receiver Chris Finke, who was by the team waived over the weekend, cleared waivers on Tuesday and was placed on Kansas City’s injured reserve list.

The Chiefs are scheduled to begin their first full-team practice on Wednesday morning.
