Chiefs place Demarcus Robinson and Daniel Kilgore on Reserve/COVID list

Six days from Super Bowl 55, the Kansas City Chiefs have announced the team has placed wide receiver Demarcus Robinson and back-up center Daniel Kilgore on the reserve/COVID list today, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

A source told Shefter that both Robinson and Kilgore were in close contact with an individual outside the team’s facility, who happened to be infected with the COVID-19 virus. Both will now be isolated from the team for the next week leading up to the big game.

Per the NFL’s rules, both players must test negative every day leading up to Sunday in order to suit up. Any player that tests positive over the next six days will not be allowed to participate in the biggest game of the season.

Robinson has played in all 16 games for Kansas City, starting nine of them. He’s played roughly 65% of the offensive snaps and has registered 45 receptions for 466 yards and three touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Daniel Kilgore played four regular-season games at the center position and performed well for the Chiefs this season.
