The Kansas City Chiefs aren’t finished signing players to reserve/future contracts before the start of the new league year on March 12. The Chiefs signed 14 players so far since January 9 and added another on Thursday evening.
According to NFL insider Aaron Wilson, the Chiefs signed running back Keaontay Ingram to a reserve/future contract. Ingram, 25, spent the last two seasons on Kansas City’s practice squad since entering the league as a sixth-round draft pick by the Arizona Cardinals in 2022.

In college, Ingram played three seasons for the Texas Longhorns before transferring to USC for his Senior year, where he gained over 1,000 all-purpose yards with the Trojans. As a rookie, Ingram appeared in 12 games and touched the ball 31 times for 81 total yards and one touchdown.
In 2023, Ingram played in eight games before getting released from the Cardinals on November 28, 2023. He signed with the Chiefs off waivers two days later.
Ingram hasn’t seen the field during the regular season since joining the Chiefs. As Kansas City begins the process of reshaping the roster over the 2025 offseason, Ingram joins Isiah Pacheco and Carson Steele as the only running backs under contract with the Chiefs right now. Ingram is the only running back who has signed a future/reserve contract with Kansas City.
When official, Kansas City will have 50 players on their offseason roster. The players from the Chiefs 2024 practice squad that still haven’t received an offer from the Chiefs include linebackers Swayze Bozeman and Cole Christiansen, cornerbacks Nic Jones and Steven Nelson, and wide receiver Montrell Washington.
